Floor covering for bedroom

My husband’s bedroom carpet needs changing. I would welcome suggestions as to what floor covering to put down - this needs to be fire proof, spillproof etc. He smokes, spills drinks on the floor and is generally messy.

Our bedrooms are all cushionfloor type.

Easy to sweep, hoover, wash…..

I like carpeted bedrooms because I don’t like cold feet. We have a ‘pet friendly’ carpet which is supposed to be easy to clean after ‘accidents’. We haven’t actually had any of those to date but it is a very thick, cosy carpet

Ceramic tiles. easy to hose down.

If the bedroom is upstairs, tiles could be horribly noisy for anyone downstairs!

OP, if carpet is out of the question, I’d go for a very well cushioned vinyl.

Modern vinyl flooring sounds like the best solution - best quality type - think that's what Calendargirl suggested. Some of the designs look very like wood. It's not cold underfoot but you could put a rug by the bed.

Thank you for your suggestions - I think I favour thick cushioned vinyl. Sounds durable.

Perhaps wood? We love wood floors. Fits your criteria.

Oh, I walked away and then pushed post later.

Great decision!

Wooden floors look great and are easy to keep clean.
