Hacks that make you happy - the easy life

Have you found a quicker, better or more satisfying way to do something that you want to share with those of us looking for the easy life?
I was sceptical about one I saw on YouTube, which involves filling a Dish Daddy with white vinegar, salt and a squirt of washing up liquid to clean the shower - it’s brilliant, scrubs both the glass, tiles and grout and takes seconds to do without having to bend over much at all.
I’ve also just discovered some cane clips that are like pegs, and it’s now taking me seconds to rein in my climbers, sweet peas etc instead of tying them in - brilliant little things.
You’re probably already doing both these things, so please share your discoveries so we can make our lives easier.

“The problem is they all need a human operator “

This is where the sugar daddy comes in, isn’t it?😆😆!

Casdon I have ordered a Dish Daddy. It's due to arrive today. Am feeling unreasonably excited about it! I'm toying with a Flash mop too. Cleaning is all new to me!

I might order one.

I have a steam mop, a swiffer mop, a squirt mop, an as yet unused microfibre mop. The problem is they all need a human operator.

Dish Daddy won't get upset if you change its name, sounds a good idea, I use a toothbrush and sponge cloth, but might get a DD it's quite neat and cheerful.

I wouldn’t have one because of its name and the face. A old toothbrush,a squeegee and washing up liquid is good enough for me.

That Daddy thing is not aesthetically pleasing

Poor Dish Daddy. I think he has a sweet little face.
J&J33 you should apologise for upsetting him. smile

It's arrived!!

I hope you like it Aveline! I love the Speed Mop too, I’ve cut up microfibre cloths and use them instead of the disposable ones, it’s so quick and efficient compared with ordinary mops because the whole surface of the mop is on the floor and it swivels easily.

I like to have a supply of bacon and cooked meats in the freezer ready to supply a quick lunch where needed. Instead of interleaving the slices with baking parchment I now roll each slice up, open freeze them and then bag up. The rolls don’t stick together and I can take out just what I need. Much easier.

Good idea!

You have excellent taste Casdon 😁

I just took a picture to show you, the handle stores the concoction to clean with, you press the handle to release the liquid so it doesn’t all run out when you’re cleaning, and it washes and scrubs the limescale away.. I’m really impressed with it.

Dish Daddy looks very interesting.

Those are my bathroom tiles 😁

You’ve got good taste like me Callistemon213, I can tell!

That’s a good idea teabagwoman, I’m going to try that, I get fed up of whole packs of cooked meat before I’ve finished it.

Squiffy Thu 27-Jun-24 14:07:33

teabagwoman that’s a genius idea! I’m off to do just that… Thank you! 💐

Oreo I dislike anything with a face on that would not normally have one

SuzieHi

OXO good grips tile & tub scrubber- Amazon £15. Best tool ever for cleaning bathroom- long handle, flexible head. Reaches all corners, round back of toilet & under sink unit as well as top of tiles & good for shower screen. No bending or kneeling!

Thanks for this tip, am going to get one.

Oh I disagree it has a cute kittle face.
Where did you buy the dish daddy OP?

Didn't like to ask. Wondered if it was similar to a sugar daddy but more useful.

😂

Pink Stuff! Been using it for a while
Made by Stardrops which I remember my Mum using.
Recently got a set with a giant battery operated cleaning brush, various heads. Really satisfying cleaning pvc window frames, shower, tiles, grout etc.
Around £20 online but mine was £12 from B & M.

Instead of tedious rubbing in when making crumbles, I melt the butter, let it cool a little, and stir all the dry ingredients into it.

Hmm - if you had a sugar daddy I don’t suppose you’d need to clean the shower yourself though…
