Velux windows.

Every day's a school day.
I happened upon this YouTube video and learnt something new. I have lived in this house for 20+ years and had never thought to wonder why the holes were there!
Plus, the first click when you pull the handle is ventilation mode.
I wish I'd known this years ago.

Just been up to look at mine. They have been in place since 1987 and have had the glazing replaced.

Yes, holes in correct postition. Outside cleaning not such a problem now as window cleaner can reach.

As the man in the video says never saw any literature from Velux that advised on this.

I've just tried it and it works,so easy to do.I have locks in the holes in the frames and thought that was why they were there. Thank you

I don't know- but have never had a velux window.
