Been looking for a sofa also maybe a chair. Not been able to find the right size shape until now. But some of the reviews are shocking . Furniture taking much longer than the 6/8 weeks, broken parts, furniture not fit for purpose, people having great trouble getting their money back. I suppose the truth is in the reviews🙄

I didn't have a problem with Oakland. My only complaint was not checking that the cushions that you sit on wasn't double sided so we could turn them over but that was my fault! Mind you I still have them 8 years later.

Not bought soft furniture but we did purchase a bookcase and a small display cabinet when we moved eleven years ago. Primarily because they fitted the space. No problems - so far 🤞

We bought a chair from them a couple of years ago without issue. We checked it straight away.
Delivery ended up being sooner than first suggested, which was a bonus.
I think on line reviews should be treated with caution.

Not had sofas from there but wouldn’t buy wooden items again.
We bought a desk which had a crack you could see through. They couldn’t repair it. Although we kept it we weren’t happy.
A colleague waited weeks for a large family dining table. When it arrived it had a lengthy crack right down the middle.
She eventually got a refund.
Is there nowhere local making made to measure sofas?

Hi Spaniel yes we do have a local Furniture Emporium but very little choice (choice of I think 3 sofas)

Thanks for the info.

That’s a shame bikergran re limited choice.

I wouldn’t buy dining chairs from there. The padding on the seat at a friends house had failed within 12 months. She hid the fact by using a chair pad for her coccydynia, but as the others failed she just provided cushions for guests.

I bought a lot of furniture from them six years ago. It's all fine and it is sturdy. However they don't build anything up and getting bulky pieces out of the boxes and put together was difficult

We have just bought a bookcase. Would never buy anything again . Max weight for shelves on this bookcase, we are now told, when we complained , is5kg. About 4 large books. The shelves bowed immediately.
. Therefore nearly 3/4 of the book case will remain empty.
People at customer services very well trained in combatting complaints .

I really must apologise. The company was Oakworld and NOT Oakland
Sorry mea culpa

I might have got it wrong too. The shop I used was Oak Furniture Land.
