Rise and recline sofas

Has anyone got one of these, if so, any problems? I recently bought one, and twice in the first week it tipped me onto the floor, leaving me unable to get up. The result is that I will no longer use the rise and recline facility. When the sofa is in recline position, with the footrest up, it`s perfectly fine, unless I lean slightly forward, then it tips over, and I slide down the footrest onto the floor. If that is how they are meant to behave, then I think it`s a very bad design.
