Not necessarily. Some liquids can jellify (is that a word?) in the channel and stop water rising so although you can't see any liquid it may well be lurking underneath something further into the channel.

My floor isn't flat, so I doubt the fridge is.

Mind you, I'll be cross if I spent out on a new fridge when I needn't have.

Is the fridge flat. If it's even slightly leaning that may cause the water to miss the drainage channel.

My fridge is the same.

For the first time ever, I bought a new fridge, because I had this problem with my last one, and this one does the same!!

I use a long plastic cable tie to push through my fridge drain, never heard of a drain snake - off to have a look.

For a temporary solution if you haven't got a drain snake, use a bendy straw.

The built-in f/f in our house has always done this, right from the start. The frost-free freezer definitely isn’t frost free, either. I’ve had frost-free products for over 30 years and never had this problem before.

I’d like to swap it for a Bosch or something better quality but it’s almost new and it would be a pain to install a new one so I’ll live with it.

Our new fridge came with one attached. I’m going to buy a proper fridge thermometer, as do it trust the dial thing.

Where can one buy a drain snake? I may look at my "corner shop" Amazon.

You need a drain snake not a bottle brush.
Take the drain snake as far as you can down the drainage hole and wriggle it around.

Have you checked the door seal? Found this online.

See if the door has been left even the slightest bit as this can cause condensation on the ceiling, dripping down into the rest of the fridge. In this case, wipe the ceiling and inside of the refrigerator out and make sure the door is closed tight.

Same problem here. I have upped the temperature to 6 degrees and it is a lot better. Don’t really want to buy a new one - I am sure it should last more than 20 years
