I hate the huge variety of cleaning products, air scents etc. rammed down our throats.
Why can’t we live simply as some here do, making their own with smells they like?

This thread is making me smile. How is inhaling bleach better for the body than using essential oils? Yes, our mothers managed with vinegar and baking soda, but they also had twin tubs and heavy vacuums instead of automatic washing machines and cordless cleaners - do we want to go backwards?

Not everyone will like the P&F products, which is fine. I like the house to smell good (which to me is achieved by non-chemical scents), so I use them. My sister likes her house to smell of Pledge and Mr Muscle, as to her that is associated with being 'properly clean' - each to her own.

I got duped by Purdue and Figg as I ordered on the recommendation of my cleaner, who loves it. Did not realise I had signed up for a subscription, so do be careful. I personally would not use it, as I consider it very expensive for tiny bottles of concentrated, highly perfumes, coloured liquids that you dilute with plain water. There is inky one if the perfumes I remotely like, the others I find too overpowering and “false”. I feel it’s a trendy gimmick that will run its course, make the inventors very rich millionaires in the meantime! Not ordering again, no matter what my cleaner says, I think I have enough of the concentrate to last me out lol!

I use thin bleach, lemon juice, white vinegar and lime scale remover and I have a very clean house.
For freshness I open windows.
I’m not irritating my body or weakening my lungs by breathing in artificial perfumes.
As well as those benefits I save a lot of money.

I've used them. They smell great but clean no better than any similar product. And expensive in comparison to other brands
I use ' Ocean Saver' . Has refills, eco friendly ,effective and not expensive.
I also like'Method' , smells great
Finally using essential oils in a burner or wiped on various things is just as good to make house smell nice!

I have tried it. I didn’t like it. I felt it left a surface film on everything and the smell didn’t last.

I love the fragrances and one spray cleans everything without the use of chemicals so I love it. Easy to put subscription on pause too. Expensive but I really enjoy using it so to me worth it.

I sometimes wonder how we survived childhood without all these cleaning and antibacterial products. My mother’s cleaning products didn’t go much beyond Vim, bleach, washing up liquid and beeswax.

Yes, I use it all the time and find it excellent. You don't actually have to subscribe and if you find you do it by a mistake you can very easily unsubscribe.

If you like smells in your house tgen a winner but cleaning, no different than many other much cheaper products. I am wary of all the organic cleaning products nowadays as many may well stick to purely organic chemicals but production methods can outweigh the organic elements.

I'm not in any way connected with P&F, so have no motive to defend them, but they make it very clear that their model is a subscription one. There is even a warning when you order that you will be debited every 90 days unless you opt out, which is very easy to do.

I am not interested in a subscription, as we are away a lot and anyway I like to buy things as and when I need them, so I just cancel and start again when I'm ready. The diluting thing might be a trend, but I think that given how much of what we already buy is made up of water it makes sense to dilute things ourselves and use less packaging. I can't see that changing over time - if anything there is more likely to be more moves to cut down on plastic.

I haven't tried them but I use essential oils sometimes, just wiped round in the conservatory with water with a few drops of geranium and tea tree essential oils to try to keep spiders away. I thi k citrus is the best but I'd run out.

We are talking about natural or manmade smells that have been added to household products, which are unnecessary for some.

I personally have to, unfortunately, avoid strong smelling plants and flowers in the home.

Yes MissAdventure we do, so no plug ins, no scented candles, a damp cloth, bicarbonate or vinegar solve most of our household cleaning needs. I do use HG for limescale, it doesn’t smell.
Fresh lemons heated can disperse persistent cooking smells.

I also herd the radio programme. Products sound very interesting but don't like any sort of subscription. If products are that good then why the need to tie people into continuity.

I've been using it for about 6 months, it's a great product, I use it for mirrors, windows, surfaces in the bathroom and kitchen, and general cleaning round the house. I do subscribe but just paused ny next delivery as I've got enough. That was e easy to do . You can't blame the owners for marketing heavily, it's a very competitive marketplace ( household cleaning), but it's great quality and smells lovely

I don't like coloured loo cleaners. The pink/red ones make me worry someone is ill and bleeding, and the yellow ones look like the loo hasn't been flushed. If they have to have a colour, I go for green or blue, in the manner of the ads, as there are no bodily fluids they could be masking.

I don't like the coloured loo cleaners either.

I use the Bloo bleach blocks. The white ones don't colour the water.
