How to keep mattress covers on

I too have this problem. My mattress cover slides all over the place and then ruckles up so it's like sleeping on a rough sea.
So I'll investigate the Rise and Fall one. Thanks.

I use flat sheets on beds these days. Find them easier than fitted ones.

The lady from the surgery gave me a metal handle that goes under the mattress.Its great.

Just put our new Rise & Fall mattress cover on.

So far, so good. I'm recovering from hip surgery and can't get in & out of bed without a lot of sliding up and down the mattress! It was a hassle to get on (a bit of swearing from DH and a lot of encouragement from me!) as our mattress is on a wooden bed frame and we have to lift the whole thing right up to get a cover on at all.

You can get mattress protectors that fit like a fitted sheet.

I used to have one with elastics on the corners, it was always coming off. I even added more elastic but it still didn't work. Having a deep mattress doesn't help. It is also very heavy to lift.

I get sheets from a company called Rise and Fall. Their fitted sheets are deep have strong elastic all of the way round. They are great on my deep mattress and also help to keep the protector in place. They even have a label on them saying which is the short edge.

Our new mattress is so heavy I can barely get the sheets on, it takes two of us.

When the delivery men put it together, they offered to put the valance on the bottom but there's more on one side than another and no amount of tugging will right it.

The mattress protector is like a fitted sheet so does stay in place.

I use the braces that go from one side of the bed to the other. Never had a problem with them, apart from having to be careful when changing the fitted sheets to ensure the braces don't come off. So when I undo them from the sheet I make sure to attach them to the mattress protector so they stay in place until I attach them to the clean sheet. I manage this on my own even though I'm disabled. Mine don't attach in the corners but about 18 inches down from the top along the side, and then again a further 18 inches down. They have never come off. Tbh I don't understand why the things don't come with elastics to hold the corners in sewn into the edge. They'd sell like hot cakes.

MissAdventure: sadly the braces work their way off the corners too!

Curlywhirly: sounds like a good solution. Just need to get my DS or DH to turn the mattress upside down for me.

I use a piece of ribbon; I thread it through the elastic loops, pull them together as much as possible, (under the mattress) then tie the ribbon in a bow. Works for me!

Have you tried the bed braces?
A bit like suspenders for stockings, but they give some extra leeway for the sheet to stretch into place, and stay there.
