Big mistake with dark grey carpet

Light coloured walls would look better with a dark grey carpet. Could you add some colourful rugs and cushions to brighten it up?

Rather than go for a bright colour you could try blue

I’d go for silver grey and jazz it up with splashes of pink or purple on your gold sofa.

I would get a couple of large Indian rugs and then you could have something like lime white on the walls and have bright coloured cushions and maybe slatted blinds. definitely not magnolia.. or other slightly pinky colours

No not magnolia ! Why not a off white and then colorful deco items. Pillows , artwork .

Blues and yellows look good with grey, could you make a feature of one wall in a stronger colour and do the others paler?
