Got a message from GS after I informed him the stain had gone saying “Thank you, it’s much appreciated”.

Makes it all worthwhile.

I don’t handwash any garment even if the label says to.A quick wash on a low setting with bio powder gets anything clean and is completely fine.

Thank you all.

Have just taken the offending hoodie out of the machine, hopefully the stain seems to have gone! A combination of Oxy and Fairy.

Have hung it on the line, but not exactly drying weather.

If it were summer, the sunshine would bleach it also.

Hope GS appreciates my faffing about all Boxing Day morning, and hope the GF chooses a more practical colour in future.

🤞

As it's an oil/fat stain I would of rubbed washing up liquid into it, but not sure that will work now you have washed it. If your Oxy doesn't shift it Soda crystals maybe worth trying.

Have to agree with PP, any stain with oil comes off with washing up liquid.

My dd also swears by fairy liquid.

I got takeaway curry stains right down the front of my silver fluffy dressing gown expecting it to be ruined. I put Fairy liquid on the stains with boiled water from the kettle and rubbed it in. I washed it on mild short wash and expected to repeat it but I was amazed the stains were gone give it a try.

I am attempting to remove a (dried) chocolate ice cream stain from a brand new (Christmas present) white hoodie that GS’s girlfriend has given him.

His mum had no stain remover so I brought it home to have a go.

It’s supposed to be cold hand wash. I have rubbed stain with vanish soap, then machine washed it at 30 with detergent and Oxy stain remover. It’s still there though!

Have now rubbed an oxy paste on stain and left it before re washing it.

Any suggestions?

(I ask you, a white, hand wash thick hoodie)!
