Bloo toilet cleaners beware!!!

I just sorted out one of my cupboards and chucked an old packet of those blocks out. I feel vindicated now, having read the comments!

I used the cistern blocks at one time thinking it was a safe option but it wrecked the diaphragm in the cistern. I have never used them since.

A plumber told me not to use the cistern blocks either, they can damage the workings and seals inside the cistern.

My plumber told me not to use anything hanging in case it blocks the loo, and not to put a tablet thingy in the cistern as over time it will wreck the plumbing. So a squirt of bleach it is then.

I bought some of the ones you hang on the loo side little round blue things in a plastic case Unknown to me they fell in the loo and blocked it luckily I found it in time and managed to do the job myself so will never use them again

I don’t use them either. I have always thought they are rather revolting hanging over the bowl.

I know my son uses them. I will send this information to him

I don’t use them myself because I like to see the bowl and when the water is blue, it’s not always possible..
I’m the same with toilet gel or bleach…

The moral of this is don’t hang anything in the toilet.

There are blocks available that you can drop in the cistern that disinfect, but gradually dissolve so no chance of blocking anything up.

I don’t use either. I squirt toilet gel or bleach round the bowl every day after I’ve cleaned the toilet. No chance of blocking at all with that.

It happened to a friend of mine, well she didn't have a wet room but the toilet backed up and it was one of those things you hang in the toilet. Apparently the man who sorted it out told her it happens quite often.

No that’s strange coming out your shower drain 😳got two in the cupboard, shall bin them.
