Using a heated throw - advice please

Since we bought heated throws we have turned our heating off at 6:30pm every night for the past 2 years no matter how cold. Then adjust the temperature on the blanket. We bought large sizes so we are completely covered and never feel cold. I’ve got one on king size bed too which covers it all obviating the need for a hot water bottle. It’s timed to go off after an hour.

I’ve had my Silent Night throw for a few years. I sit on the sofa and lay it over me. Start off on high and then lower it to the lowest setting. It’s simple to use and I love it.

My daughter has decided to ban herself from using hers when watching tv as she falls asleep it’s so cosy! She uses when she is working from home so having to sit up and take notice?

I love mine. I just drape it over my front. I put it in the washing machine when required.

I still need the heating on because I do not want the other rooms to be freezing cold but even turning it down 1C is helpful.

I never thought I would be reduced to this but I am very immobile indoors.

Never put in under you, you can wrap it around you, so long as you’re not sitting on it.

I use mine as previous posters have advised. Tucked under my arms and draped over my legs. I don't know what I would have done without mine this winter.

My daughter has one which she just lays over her when watching tv. She is so pleased with it and means she can turn her heating down. I had a try out with it yesterday and so cosy!

I returned one as I thought it too big, the size of a single bed? I imagined it would be like a 'knee rug'.

I wrap over shoulders and top of back or over front and legs. I think the warning about no weight is to stop people treating them like electric blankets.

My OH puts one over his front when sitting watching the telly, from his waist to his feet. He doesn’t put it under him.

I agree with Oopsadaisy and BlueBelle, do not put any weight on it.

I bought a mini, which I place on my tum or chest and cover with a small light blanket. I am careful not to put, for example, my supper tray on it. I use it mainly when watching TV.

I put mine over my front if I m sitting watching tv or reading or I d put it round my shoulders if I was doing something that necessitated leaning forwards (writing etc)

Place it over your chest but under your armpits, don’t sit on it or wrap yourself up in it.
