It really annoys me that the price goes up so much when the contact has finished, mine was £29.99 but the new price was £77, we all know that if you threaten to leave the price comes back down, now £35.51.

Virgin Media customer service is awful, it usually takes about an hour to get anything sorted.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I’ve just renewed with Virgin Media - my husband said he couldn’t cope with the hassle of taking out a new contract in his name! Maybe next time…

Yes, I tired of Virgin Media and went to BT. Had been paying a lot for a landline and very little tv.
Did take 5 visits from engineers but they put a new tv aerial on wall and have Netflix now and loads of choice.
No landline.
Much cheaper.

I actually went through the whole leaving process after not getting very far re' a reduction.
Two days before the contract ended I had a call and accepted a deal of around 40% off.

I am with Virgin and have been for many years.
The price regularly rises and they don't worry if you've been with them ten minutes or ten years.
Loyalty doesn't pay!
New customers always get the best deal - seems so unfair.
I stay with them as I do like the Tivo box and all the functions it has.

We have Virgin Media for TV, broadband and TV. We’re out of contract in a couple of weeks so I’ve been trying to get a deal from them - via online chat and their retentions team on the phone. Still too expensive though. Has anyone cancelled their contract with them and taken out a new one in partner’s name at the ‘new customer’ rates which, of course, are much cheaper than for existing customers?
