I want to buy new duvet cover and curtains for guest bedroom. East facing. Walls are light greyish blue at present. Won't change that.
Have got tired of looking, can't decide on colours. Help and advice appreciated. Want something nice to look at!

I have some charity shop lemon curtains with florals on them .
The room is soft lemon .
It's very pretty .
I have one pink room -I don't know why - it's not that successful .
Otherwise I find blue too cold .
Green has always been my favourite colour so that's an obvious choice for me .
Grey has been in vogue for some years .
I'm returning to.magnolia !

Can others see my images please? They are grey to me...

Could you opt for soft furnishing in a very similar shade but with a coloured pattern?

I used to have a room that colour and had curtains virtually the same shade but with a warm teal pattern running through.

White bedding, aqua cushion covers, subtle white aqua stripe curtains.

My friend’s guest bedroom which I have used several times has lemon as the fabric colour and is lovely in the morning, east facing, but cool and restful looking in the evening when there is no sun.
I feel very happy when I stay with her.
The fact that she is a superb cook is only part of the reason😉

Terracotta would work or even orange. Red might look a bit masculine. Patterned Curtains and plain duvet or patterned duvet and plain curtains. Matching patterned duvet and curtains is a bit old hat I believe.

I'd go with the pinky colours. Bright, cheerful and perfect with grey. Plain curtains and patterned quilt set. Maybe some nice prints for the walls too. Good luck with how you go.

As it is a guest room I would go for bright Caribbean type colours!

These colours seem to work well together - picking out more blues and a couple of terracotta shades. Also like the "wet plaster" colour with it.

I think mustard or terracotta could be a good choice. You could have two shades maybe?

I agree with the dusky rose pink suggestions.

Lemon, yellow or gold or mustard 👍🏻

All my linen and towels are white. Everything goes with everything else and things always look clean and fresh.
All my beds have Welsh blankets on their ends which complement the colour scheme. Blue/ grey walls, you need a complementary warm colour Perhaps patterned curtains with a pink/ grey scheme

I think I’d go with plain neutral curtains but have a lovely colourful duvet cover. If the curtains are neutral you can change the look of the room just by changing the duvet cover. I love the way that grey goes with everything. My bedroom has grey walls and striped duck egg curtains but I’d love a flowery duvet cover especially if it had dusky pink in it to add warmth which I could do if the curtains were neutral.

I would probably buy pattern curtains in a bold colour then keep to White bedding.

There are some fabulous colours out there but I think you need something with a warmth to it. Fairly neutral so you can use various colourful curtains and duvet covers to brighten it up.

Definitely not grey, that is very old hat now and not warm enough for a room that will only get early morning sunshine.

Georgesgran Tue 11-Mar-25 17:25:50

East facing will get the morning sun, so perhaps a warm colour?
Depends if you want a dramatic look or more subtle.

Grey is a neutral colour so anything goes with grey. As yours has a blue tone I bright blue would look rather sophisticated.
