I'm considering buying one of those robotic vaccuum cleaners - does anyone have any reccomendations as to a good reliable model?

I have a budget of £150 max.

I think maybe look out for a second hand or reconditioned Eufy L60.
Mine has a base station so it empties itself and cuts off any hair.

I think you may get one without a mop for about that price 2nd hand.
Mine was £260 new (on offer).
I didn't need a mop.

I second a Eufy. They are a good reasonably priced brand and have excellent customer service.

I’ve got a Roomba, it’s great, I live in a bungalow so it just gets on with it and does a great job.

I've got a Eufy and it's marvellous. I call her Rosie.
About £180 on Amazon. Cleans brilliantly, and puts herself to bed.

I've got a Eufy and it keeps stopping saying "side brush stuck" but there is nothing there. I spend more time restarting it than anything.

Have you spoken to Eufy about it? If not, maybe give them a call?

Contact Eufy. We had a problem with a camera and they sent us a new one, no questions asked.

I've got a Eufy that my son and daughter-in-law gave me! They have two dogs that didn't get on with it but I love it.

I bought a £99 Lefant robot vac a couple of years ago and it’s been brilliant! I have a small dog and two cats and it picks up loads of pet hair. I empty it every three days and am always thrilled to see how much it has picked up.
I didn’t want to invest too much until I could see how it worked. It was a Mumsnet recommendation.
I would replace it in an instant. I might possibly buy a combination vac/mop one next time.
I’d never heard of the Lefant brand but I cannot fault it.

Summysoom I also bought a Lefant entry level machine on the recommendation on Mumsnet.
It’s brilliant on hard floors which I wanted it for, but not carpet which I’m not too bothered about anyway. I bought it on impulse, not expecting too much from it, but I was wrong.
When it packs up, which it inevitably will, I wouldn’t hesitate in buying another of the same brand, but a higher spec.

I have two, an Eufy upstairs and an Ultenic downstairs. The Ultenic is a vac and mop model, but to be honest the mop is more of a wipe, and I wouldn't bother with that function again - it's easier just to use my spray mop. They both vacuum efficiently and I have had the Eufy for about 5 years now, and as others say, Eufy's service is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to replace either should they eventually conk out!

I bought a Roomba with mop element last year and am still frightened of it so hardly ever use it. DH dislikes it (those didn't say so before I ought it...) and is sarcastic about it which doesn't help.

Ours is a Neato . It’s ok for a daily clean to get the dog hairs but doesn’t do a deep clean . It was DHs choice as he loves a gadget

I have the DEEBOT X1 OMNI by Ecovac. It is nearly very good but sometimes has a bit of a mind of its own. Whilst I wouldn't say that I regretted buying it, I think I'd probably go for another brand next time.

When we told our resident (working) grandson that he would have to help more around the house, he bought us a Eufy that Christmas. We were all happy bunnies!

I have a roomba series 8 I think I bought it in 2012, still going strong. Would buy another roomba if it ever breaks down

Cateq Thu 24-Apr-25 16:51:52

We bought our son a Roomba two Christmas’s ago at his request 😂 shortly before the guarantee was up it stopped charging he contacted Roomba who arranged for it to be returned to them for repair after a week they contacted him to say it couldn’t be fixed so they sent him a new one and he not had any issues with Rufus2 as it’s known

TwinLolly Thu 24-Apr-25 17:12:51

We have had a Roomba for the last 5 years and it is still going strong.

We have a Eufy but now the novelty's worn off, I hardly use it. Sometimes it gets stuck under the furniture and topples over onto its back like a stranded beetle! Sorry to be boring, but I much prefer my ordinary cleaner. Just my personal opinion and I love gadgets!

NotSpaghetti Thu 24-Apr-25 18:02:17

Gosh, I think there's something wrong if it topples over!

I’ve got a Tapo one - it’s been really great so far. Programming it was very easy, manually or automatically setting it off is also very easy. You can also send it off to just do one room rather than all rooms. Even the dog likes it and doesn’t run away when it’s on its way.

Boolya Thu 24-Apr-25 20:10:48

Roomba - seems to pick up dust from edges better than a normal vac.
