Silk finish here too, we find it lasts well.

That reminds me. There are two window ledges waiting for me to paint them 😇

We have used silk finish on woodwork for the past twenty years and found it washable and keeping its colour even outside. I really don’t like a gloss finish.

I have used Ronseal paint. It says on the tin it is guaranteed not to turn yellow for a number of years.

I am delighted that 'gloss' paint can be water based and odour free. Yes have used satinwood also. It is much easier to apply, less mess etc so maybe not a longlasting as oil based but quick to smarten up if needed.

We want to redecorate again, as fed up with the doors and skirting boards, going yellowy after a while, does anyone use the satin wood paint, instead of traditional gloss? And what's the pros and cons?
