Extractor hood edge bubbling

Wow, pretty sure most kitchens have had it by 25 years (though I have managed with such kitchens perfectly well!).

I always put a lid on pans when using them, not sure what difference it makes.

I do always use my extractor for steam or greasy cooking, also I only use my Ninjas on the hob surface with the extractor turned on to keep the smells down as we live in a flat. We don't bother to put it on for our stovetop kettle though as the spout has a cap and a whistle.
I've never had your bubbling problem, though my current kitchen is painted so very unlikely to happen.
I'd suggest that an L shaped stainless steel strip which wraps around the edge could solve your problem, you can buy them cut to size. If your extractor is steel it would look like part of it.

We used a local independent kitchen company who have registered all their products with another enterprise. In the event that the kitchen company go out of business all their fitted kitchens are still under guarantee by the third party. All new kitchen that they design and install are guaranteed for 25 years too.

Couldn't figure how you had an extractor in a cupboard! Figured must be one that has a flap on front matching kitchen units. Never had one, always a free floating type and never had cupboards at the sides. Good luck trying to resolve.

Was just saying the kettle is next to the hob with overhead cupboards so something else to watch . We never put it on to boil the kettle but will have to be more careful. The hob doesn’t get used that much as I have two ninjas and when the kitchen was fitted had a space on the end of the worktop with no cupboards above for the ninja. Anyway we live and learn.

I deliberately didn't put a cupboard over my extractor... I suppose if you always use it in future then you should be fine.

I don't use my extractor on high unless I'm actually boiling something (say a Christmas pudding or soup stock). I might well use it on low for simmering ... I know I create steam regularly... and on top of that my kettle is next to the hob and I never put it on for the kettle!

Thanks for all you responses. We still haven’t decided what to do about it but will consider accepting the offer of a new door at cost. Take the point that the colour won’t have faded. Just a bit disappointing that it’s happened at all but have to take some responsibility. Dh not happy !!

I went for neff glass cooker hood, when I pull the glass part out, some of the metal inside has corroded. That’s me not putting that on all the time.
Also, my dishwasher washer door has blown at the top, totally my fault, as I add stuff I’ve forgotten about- so couldn’t for shame ask kitchen guy to fit a new door at his expense.

Steam will penetrate anything porous regardless of any coating, or blue used to bond it, above the cooker should have been all stainless steel, bad design choices.

If it's warped with steam I think I'd accept a replacement at cost as suggested.

Then I would be religious about the extractor fan!
At least if it's less than 3 it will probably be the same colour as the other cupboards and not have faded yet.

It’s happenened to mine - I used superglue to stick it together, but it still comes apart. Having said that my kitchen is 15 years old.
