I think I’ve done all I can and will sand down and paint over. It’s got to look better than it does at present.
I’ll just rub down the chairs and paint over them too. 😤

I've used a drill with a circular fine wire brush on it, can't think what is the proper name for it but it removed paint, rust, dirt really quickly. Think it's made of tungsten.

Join the club! I am trying to strip what is probably some of the first plastic-based paint ever sold off an outdoor window-frame.

If you perserve with an electric sander you may finally get the paint off. I have succeeded in getting most of my window-frame sanded down, but I have hurt my shoulder in the process, so I am thinking of adopting the "paint-on-top-and- call it shabby chic- method.

Pressure wash, sand, prime, paint (may need to paint 2x).

Can you try Sadolin Superdec?
Ask what they think at a decent paint shop.

I agree with this, though you may need to use a suitable primer. A good paint shop should be able to advise you.

Are you using water when you strip?
That sounds a bit sexy, doesn't it?!
What I mean is that the surface has to be wet for the paint to go mushy and peal off. Even pressure washing as you go isn't a bad idea to remove the more stubborn areas.

Are you going to repaint the furniture?
