I was wondering if anyone here has milk delivered and what kind of coolbox they use for it to be stored? I have ( its battered and I need an new one) an old Milk and More milk minder but , like many milk miders they have to be bought off the dairy who supplies you - my dairy doesnt do it ( Milk and More withdrew from our area as we are rural). They have suggested a cool box but given no indication of what size or kind would work. It has to hold at least 4 bottles each delivery.

Can anyone tell me what kind they use?

We have milk delivered, and try to be up in time to bring the bottles in. Never used a milk box.

We use an old metal box. Our milkman comes around midnight though, so we usually stay up to wait for the delivery,

We use a picnic cool box which we have had for years. It holds milk and bread and keeps the birds from pecking at them.

I have a very old cool box and ice pack in it. The milkman comes at any time between 11.30 - 6.00. It will hold 6 pints if necessary. I’ve had it at least 20 years, we used it when camping.

Hello aprilrose as I said it is old so can't give the make (we bought it in France). It is approximately 10 inches high, 12 inches wide and 10 inches deep. Argos have one which is a bit bigger and retails at £18.00. Hope this helps.

We use an old plastic box. Our milkman came 1.30am yesterday, I heard the bottles clinking. It’s always during the night, and I get it in as soon as I get up.

Thank you for the replies. I managed to sort the problem. I got a 24L box off Amazon ( got that because it was on one of Amazons offers and cheap at the time). I have added a wire milk minder for six bottles in the bottom which is just big enough, sat on some freezer blocks , which I bring in and re freeze. It is warm at the moment so I think the freezer blocks are necessary ( probably not so in winter).

Years ago we had a caravan with no fridge and used an Osokool, basically a cube made of plaster of Paris (or something very similar) which you soaked with water which cooled the interior by evaporation.
I’ve done a google search and there’s one for sale on piclic.
