Carpet stain removal advice

I've used Ammonia - well diluted on carpet stains .
Don't know if it will work on rust .
I hate the pong and it makes your eyes water .

HG do a Stain Away Rust which might be worth a try but I have always found Dr Beckman’s works a treat, have you let in soak in and done it a couple of times?
Other than that could you put a rug or bean bag or something over it?

We swear by Stikatak carpet stain remover, which is stocked by our local independent hardware store, but is generally only available online.
Can't promise it will work, but it's never let us down yet.

WD40 might work, it works on removing makeup.

WD40 is oil based and will leave a stain.

Try Vanish.

Sage, WD40 make a non-oil-based formula. I have tried Vanish, use it a lot.

Timely post as i had a professional carpet cleaner here today as I needed a sofa cleaned and lots of stair carpets I'd also spilt a hot cup of tea on the landing which was awful. He was great and very thorough there is no sign of the tea stain you'd never know it was there he also left us with a bottle of his own stain remover and cleaned the door mats for free. Its not cheap but if you can get a professional in.

Maybe lemon juice and salt? But you need to soak it into the carpet, let it sit then blot it out with a white cloth. No rubbing or the stain could spread.
