Hi. Just had our bedroom painted pale green. We have a light grey headboard and carpet the wardrobes are oak.
I can’t seem to find the right green for the curtains there seems to be a million different shades. Do you think pale grey would be okay, but then what about the duvet cover, I’m going around in circles. 😵‍💫

A dark pink looks good with green.

Pale Apricot

Almost the same, I’d tie in with the oak.

Except maybe not with grey🤔

I've had a look at the Dulux chart for greens. Depending how light your walls are, there's a darker green called Forest Shade which looks online like a green/grey, which might be good if you can get a similar fabric colour.

I have dark cream curtains and when I painted the walls pale green I fully intended to change the curtains for green ones. However the cream looks so nice against the walls I kept them.

I have oak flooring.

I find it helps to go through wardrobes and blankets etc find various colours and hang them on the rail to help you choose.

Why not find a pattern that incorporates all the colours and something else.

Oh I put in “curtains grey green” and dunhelm came up with some in a mix of grey and green stripes that looked good but also a grey/ green open check that I really liked.

Would something like that work ?

I think pink would look good as V'srock suggests
. Have you anything pink (like a pink sheet or dress) you could drape over the headboard, then stand back and see how it looks?
Grey would be OK, but a bit boring perhaps.

I would go with a shade of grey of which there are plenty, from cool greys all the way to warmer ones (Fifty Shades of
😹) Very calming.

More than two colours in a bedroom can be rather overwhelming.

Grey goes very well with pink/peach/apricot (that is why Christian Dior chose pink and grey as his signature colours).

LOUISA1523 Fri 19-Sept-25 13:57:52

You would need a greige shade of grey not a blue grey or a pink grey

Thank you so much everyone, some really good ideas. I went to Dunelm this morning but just felt overwhelmed and came home, it’s been a busy week 😵‍💫

Dunelm still do made to measure curtains and will send you fabric swatches so that might be useful.

Graham & Brown have a lovely selection...you can also order samples from them.

If the walls, carpet and headboard are plain, I would be inclined to go for a deep/dark green patterned fabric. If the room faces north, maybe dark green pattern on a pale background?

Warm cream, check out Farrow and Ball 'Dimity' paint colour.

I agree, cream curtains would look great with the pale green👍🏻

Yes, but I don't think cream would go with the grey headboard and carpet.

Wow you ladies are brilliant. I would never have thought to bring clothes out and put them over the headboard and rails. The room is southwest facing so plenty of light.
I think cream or apricot are lovely suggestions and would keep it light, I also like pink with green although how much pink myDH would put up with, I’m not sure 🤣
