M&S Egyptian cotton towels are superb, IMO. They last for years and come in a lovely range of colours/sizes.) The "bath sheet" is huge and snuggly.) Recommended!

I must add my Dunelm ones are still good too (after 3 or 4 years).

I'm really surprised that the Dunelm ones have shred... When we moved here 3 years ago I bought bath sheets and hand towels in a darkish green and a set in yellow and they have never shred. I never use fabric conditioner on them ( I was told this affects the pile). 3 years on and they still look as good as new. Maybe you have just been unlucky and purchased a duff batch.

I wash everything (pretty much) when new.
I have been in factories!

I always wash towels as soon as they arrive

I've recently discovered Ikea towels, not fluffy because they are textured but they are goof sizes and dry really quickly.

Usually when I buy new towels, I wash on the 20 minute cycle to get rid of the dander before use, sometimes labels say wash before use.

I bought some "emergency" towels this year from Asda when I went there for the post office one day. We were having guests that weekend and we had somehow mislaid the four towels I kept for them.

They are actually very nice and I've noticed my husband picks them out of the towel pile to use!

He does have a beard though.
No shedding that I can see...

I use Christie towels, and they are lovely. They have regular sales, so I don't recommend paying full price. Put some in your basket, enter your details then leave and wait until they contact you with an offer. There will almost certainly be a sale before Christmas as people will buy new towels in expectation of guests.

I usually use white or cream towels, but once bought some 'super luxury' teal and burgundy ones from BHS for a change. They were very thick and soft, but despite numerous washes they shed and left a dark layer all over the bathroom - every nook and cranny was coated in teal and/or burgundy fluff.

I usually buy from John Lewis. They have a great colour range. Matalan and NEXT also work for me.

We have replaced our old towels with navy ones from Dunelm this Spring but they shed dreadfully! Everything in the bathroom gets a layer of lint and my husband says that drying his face after shaving leaves bits all over his face which he has to rub and pick off. I’m going to return them. I don’t have receipts, they are long gone, but I can show on my phone bank account that I’ve spent about £900 in Dunelm this year. I’ll report how I get on, but please will you dear grans recommend where I can buy non shedding towels? Can’t spend a fortune but will shell out for the right towels. Thanks
