House buyers on 3rd survey

Surely they cannot all be general building surveys. So must be specialist ones, asbestos, electrical?????

The people you should be asking this question of is your Solicitor. They are the ones who should be dealing with these delays and keeping you informed of Exchange date.

Speak to your Estate Agent and Solicitor. They should be checking the buyers out and finding out why they want these extra surveys. Are they specialist ones? for asbestos, or damp?

DD had an extra caautious buyer who insisted on an asbestos survey (they didn't find any).

If your solicitor and/or estate agent say these surveys are unnecessary then tell your buyer so and tell them you will be putting your house back on the market, so that they know if a better buyer cmes along you will ditch them.

Is there some problem which might cause the buyer to be cautious - eg, it previously suffered from subsidence? Even if it's now underpinned and fully rectified, the very word makes people nervous. Or are you in an area which has previously flooded, perhaps?
If there's no discernible reason for their caution, then you'll have to decide whether to keep waiting or force tthe issue by saying that, if contracts aren't exchanged by [date you decide] then the house is going back on the market ..
