Do ask around as to find a roofer with a good reputation. Many claim to be but! A bad roofer can do a lot of damage. A local firm made such a hash of repairing an old slate roof that we had to employ a different firm to replace with a total new roof

Mine was 12k, which covered the roof, the facias, and the guttering. It was a fair price carried out by a reputable company.

That sounds quite high, based on my daughter's recent experience - a lot of her costs were for scaffolding, which I assume is not needed for a bungalow?

Hers (a small house - roof probably smaller than a bungalow) took a few days, but these were spread over a couple of weeks because of bad weather. They can work in the rain, but not if the materials they are using will be affected by being wet (cement or whatever they use). There was one 'main man' with a couple of labourers brought in as necessary, plus the scaffolders, who were hired in rather than part of the company.

He did take videos, and has given a full guarantee, as well as coming back to check things like guttering and making necessary adjustments. I'm not sure of the exact figure, but it was somewhere around the £10k mark. She lives in the NW, if that makes a difference.

My son had quotes between £10,000 and £35,000 for the same roof! I’d get more estimates and check out exactly what you’ll get for your money.

I've just searched Google AI and it tells you almost everything. Just click on this link and keep scrolling down: what to ask when getting a new roof

I would add this - ask them to go up there and take photos of your roof so you can see what needs doing. Then you can have photos again after they've finished to compare.
Note: we had cowboys who never took photos and later on had a really nice roofer who took photos and showed us everything.

Small bungalow two beds etc

14,000 pounds and use original tiles and replacing the broken ones

further question how long to do the job, depending on how many workers will actually be there for their full eight hours a day
