Cover less duvets

Another alternative is to get two 4.5 tog ones and double up in winter. That way you can fit them in the machine easily.

Bought a 4.5 tog double 6 weeks ago and able to wash it easily in own washing machine. I'm well pleased at how easy it is just to throw it over the bed without wrestling with duvet covers.

Gingster if you go on the website, it tells you what sizes fit into washing machines. I think my machine is an 8 or 9 kilo machine. I can just squeeze the kingsize quilt into it.

I've heard a mix of bamboo and I think linen one's have a lovely feel to them. Anyone have one? As I'm tempted

I’d like to get one to try but am still concerned about the washing. It would be a 10 tog.

I love them.
Have both winter and summer ones.
So easy to wash and quick to dry.
My king size winter one was a struggle for the washing machine but as I only have a standard double bed with only me in it I bought a double size and it is perfect.
The king size summer one is fine in the machine.
I wouldn’t go back and struggle with a cover.

You can get round the kingsize not fitting into the washing machine by using two singles instead, and washing them on different days.

I find my double summer one (4.5 tog) fits the machine, but the double winter one (10.5 tog) doesn't. I can just squeeze it in, but there is no room for the machine to agitate it.

Just looking for coverless duvet postings as really interested in getting one. Probably a king-sized. Some postings mention needing a large capacity washing machine which I can understand but what would be a large capacity machine.

There have been other threads on coverless duvets, many of them very positive. From personal experience, I am all for them. Ideally, you’d have an over sheet, so wouldn’t need to wash the duvet so frequently. I find it hard work getting the cover on a duvet.

I gave up on covers years ago. I now have a top sheet and a king size throw over the duvet.

I don’t like the idea of having to wash them very often which you must. Much prefer just washing a duvet cover.

I’m a convert to them. You do need a larger capacity washing machine for the King size ones but otherwise they make bed making much easier, especially if you have frequent guests.

We've got them abd won't go back.

Bit of a struggle to get in the washer - we will get a bigger washer when this one dies.
