I've been told I should soak new tea towels in white vinegar before putting them to use.
Is this true?

I just put them through the washing machine. Same with table cloths unless they are oilcloth

Sorry, I meant to put teatowels as a title.

It was suggested that doing the vinegar thing before washing them increases absorbency?
