Just had a phone call from a lady in her late 30's.
Her mother has passed away and her father passed away some years ago.
There is a will.
The problem is she does not know where the money is but she knows the house is owned by her mother.
The only help I can think of giving her is to offer to help to search the house for evidence of money. I will not feel comfortable looking through other people's cupboards but I will do it if she wants me to.
Anybody got any other suggestions.
When my father passed away I had his money recorded on a spread sheet and I knew exactly where it was. I just think there is a chance a Gransnetter has been in this situation.

Fair point Ana fair point.

Anyway, Frank wouldn't have time to work for the CAB - his days are already filled with hospital visiting, attending care assessment meetings and answering his phone. And keeping us up to date, of course.

Afternoon all!

Couple of points, yes I did suggest Frank, The Movie and also suggested some actors to be cast as G'Ners (can't remember which thread though blush I'm sure between us we could write the screenplay.

I have also suggested that Frank's talent at sorting out finance issues etc could be put to good use, for example volunteering at the CAB, (can't remember the thread that one was on either, but I do remember the reaction, I think some people were seen running screaming into the night)

Agree Orca wink

I think Frank has a calling and all these people knocking on his door and phoning for advice have heard on the grapevine about his financial knowledge. Frank - get an answerphone so you can avoid the interruptions to your ministrations grin

I could not agree more Dorset, gillybob et al - now he is telling us his phone is ringing [yawn] emoticon Is he getting off on this? (do not answer that question, or even hold that thought)

Orca Fri 22-Mar-13 13:59:27

Frankly it's marginally more productive interesting than arguing about religion sad

dorsetpennt Fri 22-Mar-13 13:57:11

gillybob you said it - this is one huge wind-up - if you read any of HunterF's thread you will understand what I mean. To be honest why anyone even replies to any of his threads or comments is beyond me - he obviously leads a quiet life.

HUNTERF Fri 22-Mar-13 13:53:16

Sorry gillybob

It was a recorded announcement on my phone asking for my credit card details.
There is no way I will give that information.

Any screen writers or musicians amongst us? We're missing a huge opportunity.. ...*'Frank the Musical'* wink

gillybob Fri 22-Mar-13 13:50:39

Frank I would love a new iphone 5 and £10 postage seems like quite a bargain. If you are not taking up the offer could you let me have the details please. smile

HUNTERF Fri 22-Mar-13 13:47:13

Ariadne

Were you the one who called to offer me the £50?.

Frank

Ariadne Fri 22-Mar-13 13:40:01

Had enough of this nonsense.

HUNTERF Fri 22-Mar-13 13:37:55

Oh I have just won an I phone 5.
They want me to send a £10 postage fee.

Frank

Ana Fri 22-Mar-13 13:37:29

Good one Frank! grin

HUNTERF Fri 22-Mar-13 13:35:21

The call which you referred to was about PPI.
I have had another one in between guaranteeing to save me money on my mortgage and offering me £50 if they could not.
I took interest and then asked how are they going to save me money on my mortgage as I have not got one and asked them to send me the £50.
The phone went down.

Frank

gillybob Fri 22-Mar-13 12:38:59

Yes I can hear it Frank hurry up or they may hang up.

whenim64 Fri 22-Mar-13 12:38:45

What a pain. Don't you get any time to yourself?

gillybob Fri 22-Mar-13 12:38:03

The people who are keeping Frank up to date with the progress of the lady in hospital , of course. whenim64 Do keep up ! grin

HUNTERF Fri 22-Mar-13 12:37:06

I think the person is one of her friends.
I have lost track on which ones are friends and which one's are relatives except for her immediate family.
O'h and the phone is ringing again.
