The bank is cancelling my overdraft facility.

All of the scams I have had up till now have asked customers to put in their pin numbers etc.
There is nothing on this e mail asking you to do that so I can not see how the sender stands any chance of getting any money out of the situation.
Anybody with any sense would just contact their bank.

Don't play the naïve card Frank you know perfectly well how the bank email scams work.

Got on to my bank and they are not withdrawing my overdraft facility.
They are increasing it to the new minimum amount they give bank pensioners.
This overdraft facility is given free of charge and I am having it even though I do not anticipate using it.
I did wonder as I was not asked to put any account details in.
Somebody has gone to a lot of trouble considering they can not gain any money out of it.

Fraud lines may be open on a Sunday. Number may be on the back of the debit card or on the web site.

Banks will normally write to you not phone or email! its a scam

I'd report spam to my email provider. And I have, in the past, notified my bank that someone was spamming in their name. They need to know about this.

absent probably not! Only their emergency fraud /lost card lines I guess. But any bank sending out personal emails out of hours ought to be!

I worked in a bank but in a head office department.
I know no more about High Street Banking than your average customer.
It will show on my account soon if they do cancel it but I can easily live without it.

Phone the bank and find out the real situation Frank I am v surprised you were not on to this immediately!

Its probably a scam they do the rounds hoping some customers will reply ?? and some do !!

Banks would not do this. You would receive a letter and be invited to discuss with your bank. They like you to have an overdraft facility because you pay for it.
