I have been editing a little booklet of memoirs for my U3A writing group and some of them have raised the question of copyright. I can't say it bothers me much as I doubt if anyone would want to copy my memories but if any of you grans has any information you can share with me, I'd be happy to have it.

This might help, Annodomini.

Thanks, MS - I will have a look. Like your name (and the Sonata), by the way.

You're welcome, Annodomini, and thank you - it's one of my favourites too!

You will own the copyright of what you write and the moral rights the author and is protected by law. If you want to protect it you should mark with a copyright sign your name and date.

You need to state that you assert your moral rights as author as well as including a copyright line. By the way, you cannot copyright a title.
