Frank - if you think they will employ care staff to look after them, then what was the point of the original post?

HUNTERF Wed 24-Jul-13 12:01:38

FlicketyB

I think if one of the Royal Family got dementia they would employ care staff and look after him / her in one of their houses.
If necessary they will get the appropriate alterations done.

So will she need to move into a Housing Association Sheltered flat when/if she retires? Maybe that is why she refuses to abdicate.

Obviously better quality housing for the elderly in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Yes of course it's a tied cottage...I hadn't thought of that grin

He's fine sometimes, but when the needle gets stuck..................

Buckingham Palace isn't a council house - it is a tied cottage and she requires it to carry out her job grin

If we all ignored his posts, maybe he would get fed up and go away.

vampirequeen Tue 23-Jul-13 12:38:13

Like the idea Frank.

Does the Queen pay rent on her council house btw? Is she on the tenancy agreement or has she signed it over to one of the younger ones?

If she hasn't she'll be OK but if she has then unfortunately they will lose a percentage of their housing benefit for each bedroom they don't need (please note 'need' not 'use').

grin

Admin....is it possible to have a 'wooden spoon' emoticon? grin

sunseeker Tue 23-Jul-13 12:25:48

Wonder if she has a London pension grin

Ana Tue 23-Jul-13 12:13:06

Perhaps she'd better take your advice, Frank, and put her properties in joint names with one of her children! wink

He may be bored but he is boring me.

glammanana Tue 23-Jul-13 12:05:47

merlotgran he's bored I think.crown

Anne58 Tue 23-Jul-13 12:04:54

I doubt if it would come to that Frank as you very well know. How about playing a different tune for while? We know every verse to this one and it's becoming tedious.

merlotgran Tue 23-Jul-13 12:02:50

How many anti-royal threads have you started this morning, Frank?

HUNTERF Tue 23-Jul-13 12:00:08

Well they could sell Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House for her care fees.

Frank

Anne58 Tue 23-Jul-13 09:02:36

The Queen privately owns two properties, Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House, which are not publicly funded (C&P from www.royal.gov.uk)

Anne58 Tue 23-Jul-13 09:00:10

They can't sell Buckingham Palace Frank because they don't own it.

Gagagran Tue 23-Jul-13 08:56:43

Is that your plan for your large 4-bedroom home Franks?

HUNTERF Tue 23-Jul-13 08:29:44

I hope they will have to sell Buckingham Palace if one of them has to go in to care.

Frank
