Hooray! - I have done it. It's been hanging over me for weeks.

This is the first time I have done the online tax assessment and it was so easy! I used to pay an accountant, but now my income is so low I decided to ditch her and go it alone. It was so much easier than using her, as I did not have to seek out every little receipt and bundle everything up to send to her - I just bunged it on the online form. Job done!!!

Just one point to make here, if the tax return shows that you are due a refund you need to actually ask for it or it will be taken off your code for next year. I prefer the money in my account!

I normally don't have to do any forms for my tax.
The tax offices still have a bit of a problem talking to each other but I think they are better than when I first came back from London.
I have 3 tax offices involved with my tax and they apply my personal allowance to my main pension and just take the tax at 20% from the other 2.
I just hope there will be no problems when I get my state pension.
I got a £25 refund this year.

This year I got a cheque for my refund but when I owed about £20 last year my code was lowered.
