Is he registered disabled? If so an OT would be a good person to contact, they can be very helpful and obtain all sorts of necessary things. It doesn't really matter who owns the wheelchair if he needs it then the delay is totally unacceptable.

thanks folks. He doesn't have an O.T but I will try to get to talk to one for advice. The firm have been told over the phone that we will go down the media route as my son has done in the past. Unfortunately my son is in the throes of a relationship disaster and that is what is filling his head at the moment. We are on slightly shaky ground as we are not the people who own the wheelchair.

I agree with LizG and nina. Write a letter/email the manager of the company and threaten with the press or write to your MP. His OT should be able to help but he shouldn't have had to go to the expense of buying another chair in the meantime. This is actually an infringements of his rights, I think - and may just come under the Disability Discrimination Act. Good luck.

I agree ask his OT to get involved. I would also be contacting the highest person I could find in the company and threatening them with the media/press.
Poor guy doesn't need this hassle, I hope his chair is returned in A1 condition soon.

This is disgraceful rojon. Does your son have an occupational therapist because he/she might be able to help with the return of the wheelchair. I hope you get this sorted as the time lapse is unacceptable.

My son's wheelchair was taken to the suppliers to be repaired eight weeks ago. We are getting nowhere with phone calls and hope someone on here can give us advice with regard to getting the repaired wheelchair returned to us anytime soon.
He has had to buy a basic power chair while waiting for its return as he cannot self propel.
