My father has just died leaving all of his estate to his grandchildren ( in unequal amounts but that's another story) can I obtain a copy of the will if I am not a beneficiary but am next of kin with my brother and sister?i do not want to contact the solicitor as ££££,s per minute every time I try to speak to them! When he wrote the will he was just about competent to do so but rapidly deteriorated afterwards and I questioned the validly at the time but solicitor was good and questioned what he had written knowing it would be divisive in the family!

Anyone can obtain a copy of a Will once probate has been granted. Apply to the Probate Registry for the relevant district - there will be a fee.
