Giving Money/ Help with childcare etc

My mum always said "I'd rather see you enjoy my money now than you have to wait till I'm gone"
That's how DH and I see it too.

Quite right, if you can afford it. Why wait till the tax man takes what has already been earned and taxed! X

My late mother was never very rich, dont know what counts as rich these days..... footballers, pop stars,

However she had good jewish friends with land in germany who heard that they were next on the list to go on the 'death' trains, and managed to get to UK. They had to work hard in UK, but eventually got reparation for their lost land from the German Govt.

They had a saying " give while the hand is hot"

What a marvellous philosophy.

She gave us a little to help out in times of need and we have done the same with our kids.
