What does your son say about this? I thought grandparents didn't have any rights so will be very interested to hear how you get on.

We hear of an increasing number of women who do this and also take their children away from the fathers. When the fathers try to get access vie the social services they find themselves up against too many people who believe all the mother says and assume the father is the bad one just because she says so. It does not surprise me at all that some fathers just give up the struggle.
