I have just registered my interest on HMC 's website and received an e-mail stating Iwill receive a form to complete online in up to 14 weeks.

Well worth registering it if you apply but as they are "Tax Free" the amount would most likely be discounted on the total income calculation certainly worth asking the question,do you have a link for information it may tell you there.

I have read about this in the press and registered interest. One of us is not a taxpayer so worthwhile spending a couple of minutes filling in some forms to save £212 I would say.

Hello PeterJ and welcome to Gransnet. I know next to nothing about this, but it seems you have nothing to lose by registering so I would do it.

I have a 'War Disability Pension'. War Disability Pensions are Tax Free.

My question is: When working out my Annual Income does the Tax Free War Disability Pension count as a part of my Annual Income?

"If your income is less than £10,600 in 2015/16 tax year you may be able to reduce your husband, wife, civil partner's tax by up to £212."
"You maybe able to claim Marriage Allowance if all the following apply:
1. My wife has an annual income (State Pension) of much much less than £10,600
2. I have an annual income (State and other Pensions) of between £10,601 and £42,385.
3. we were both born on or after 6 April 1935.

My question is: Is it worth while registering now to get an email telling me when she or I can claim Marriage Allowance allowing my wife to transfer some of her Personal Allowance to me?
