New Standard Pension

I've just read this but I am none the wiser - can anyone explain in simple terms for me. I already have my State Pension (less than the new standard) and am assuming it will not change?

I understand that it is all part of the changes post April this year.

As far as I understand it ( and who does?!) it will mainly affect people who's wages were less than that required to pay full NI. Due to the type of work and hours worked.

It will affect people who had several part time jobs with different employers.

It was mentioned by the expert who spoke on the Woman's Hour programme on pensions. It was also a surprise to them!
