I have my 15-year-old grandson's passport. am I legally obliged to give it to anyone but him - or the man who has parental responsibility for him?

This is an old thread. It says near the top of this page that the passport was found.

What a relief and how lovely that they came, and with the baby

I had a surprise visit tonight. My third grandson C came with his wife and baby and collected the passport. He obviously wanted to ...make amends? make contact?
Any way it seems we both wanted to 'let bygones be bygones' as they say....and I have met my second great-grandson for the first time at age 10 months.
And have reassuring news about teenager K whose passport it is, but haven't seen him!

I did say no to the social worker!

Jalima Wed 22-Jun-16 17:42:05

unless we've all forgotten again
(quite likely in my case)

Jalima Wed 22-Jun-16 17:41:42

well, if it's the social worker you know you have a safe hiding place now (if you forget where it is next time, we can all remind you grin)

Hooray!! So glad you found it, we've all been worrying. You will know where everything in your home is now you've thoroughly searched every nook and cranny.

I'm so relieved for you Alie - was checking the thread daily for updates!

A follow on from this; it is a very good idea to copy passports before trips, especially school trips, then if passports are lost the process at embassies etc is a lot easier. So glad you found it!

GNers at their best again.

Hope he has a good trip!

AlieOxon Tue 21-Jun-16 11:18:15

I found it. In the kitchen, tucked in beside some plates, and edge on so hardly visible..........oh what a panic.
Perhaps I can relax now!

In a file with birth certificates?

Um, thinking we should all come up to Oxfordshire and help you;
I could do some family history research at the same time

Have you got a car? is it in the car?
