Last week I had quite a few from "Talktalk", all Indian type voices with very English names.

Oh these scammers have so many ways....shame they cannot use their inventiveness for good purposes!

Bye the bye I used to get annoyed, almost upset when I realised it was a scam call. Nowadays we screen most of our calls but sometimes the odd one comes through. The other day a very Asian female voice was telling me she was 'Jennifer from British Telecoms'......I took a deep breath and in my best School teacher's voice said....'No you are not, now go away and stop being silly'......far from being upset....I found myself feeling jolly satisfied....somehow by really acting a part it diffused the whole situation.

P.S we have no contracts with BT in this household....

There have been three threads about TPS and possible scams lately. You are not the only one it seems.

I wasn't sure where to put this so I hope this is OK.

I have just received a phone call for 'TPS Services'. I listened for a second or two but they asked me to update my information. I said I would not and she said they all ready have it. I imagine they have as any company must be able to get it to exclude your phone number from their calls.

I checked on line and the TPS say

The TPS will not call a subscriber of the service to ask for personal details or payment to complete a registration

There is more information here

I suppose it had to happen - using the TPS to scam call ... sad
