Start or state pension at 68 brought forward seven years

I think the title of the post is meant to read "Start of state pension...." So it's the date at which the state pension at 68 starts that has been brought forward.

Surely it has been put back (to later, not earlier )?

My State Pension was moved twice!...Second time in 2011 by a whole year, was supposed to be March 2017 (when I was 63 1/2 - born Sept 1953).The Coalition goverment apparently moved it in 2011 (6 years before) with no notification whatsoever! So goal posts do move - beware!

Disgusting isn't it?

I will be able to retire at 67 (and a bit) as it stands (although the goal posts could move in the next 12 years.

It is a major problem for me and DH as we have a 10 year age gap. DH had hoped to work until he was 70 and we would retire together (no private pensions) Now it looks like he will be working until he drops dead as I can't see him being able to carry on in his line of work for another 12 years (he will be 77 for goodness sake).

I do think we have been given a very raw deal indeed.

At least they get plenty of notice!
