State pensioners £10 bonus

It's to help towards the cost of Christmas. I'm sure plenty do need it .

Since I never knew I had it , I will not miss it. Give it where it will do most good.

It's not just the pension age that receives it. Anyone on DLA or P.I.P also do .

I had no idea what the £10 that appeared in my account was. Apparently it’s to buy a ?. Ted Heath started it when you probably could buy one for that.
Just stop it and give it to those who really need it is my opinion. Then I stop and think that some people who received it really do need it

Maybe you could buy ten pound s worth of groceries and put in your local foodbank

I agree it's a dreadful waste of money - not just the £10 but the associated administrative costs. Surely this could be put to better use? There are food banks up and down the country feeding the poor and we're all getting a tenner for nothing. Madness

Well I just checked and we have it. Never ever looked before so goodness knows how long we have had it.

Wouldn't it be easier to add it to the heating allowance?

Mine just appears in my bank account, as it has done every year since I was 60. It's a shocking waste of money. I mean, why older people? Why not just load a helicopter with £10 notes and drop them around city centres and school playgrounds? Or put a stop to the whole business and use the money to do something worthwhile for those who really need it.

My mum's pension is paid into her bank account weekly. The £10 was added on to one of those payments in early December. She didn't know until I was helping her to check her bank balance a few days ago and I spotted it. It was one of several reasons why she hadn't been able to balance it!

It hasn't stopped, they just pay you an extra £10 one week before Christmas into your account.

It started when we fist received our state pension at the age of 60, it will be different now I would have thought for those who have to work longer.

Is it over 75 s . I didn’t know about it but wouldn’t necessarily be looking for it in my online account

It hasn’t stopped. DH got his at the beginning of December. It just appeared in the bank account so, check yours.
