Seen the MSE site, just wondered what had happened since then for me to get the letter and if there was more to it.

My OH had a letter from them a while back, looked online and although it seems to of been hacked there didn't seem to be much concern about it. They are a company used by some credit cards/companies to do checks.
The hack happened between 2011/2016. Money Saving Expert site has details.
He ignored it and never heard anything else from them.

annsixty I sometimes miss things when away or too busy to listen to news or come on here. It totally passed me by at the time.

No mention of my driving licence in the letter. Seems I may not have had the original letter and you may not have been sent the current one. Their incompetence is worrying isn't it?

I had never used Equifax.

I posted about this some time ago and had a second letter last week.
The details you give are the same as mine along with driving licence number.
I have ignored it as I feel anybody could get that information.
I was offered either free advice or a paid service!!.

I have had a letter from them about their hacking last year, I was one of the people whose details had been hacked.

They are offering me various free security protection services and I wonder what others think about taking up the offers. The hackers only had my name, DOB and phone number so what can they do with that?

Is it likely that Equifax is now more secure as a result of being hacked or should I avoid them because they have already been hacked?

Anyone else in the same situation?
