HMRC Scam

I had a letter telling me of a rebate and how I could have it paid directly into my bank account - think I had to log on somewhere to do this - although I knew it was genuine I just waited and eventually the cheque arrived in the post.
I agree about scam emails getting so sophisticated now -I just ignore all emails which could be dodgy and wait to see if I am contacted some other way too.

I’ve had a couple of emails from HMRC and when I phoned to report them I was told HMRC never contact folks except by letter. So BEWARE.

Yes my husband had this the other day and said how authentic it looked - obviously deleted it but they are getting so sophisticated with these scams now!
