Pot of money for 18 year olds

I listened to the money programme on R4 at 12 o’clock today. Paul Lewis talking about the nest egg set up by the Blair government in 2002 and lasted until 2011 when it was withdrawn by the coalition. On reaching 18 from this year until 2029 anyone born In the UK should have one of these accounts.

If anyone here has grandchildren in this bracket it may be good to look into as a surprise may be waiting for them.

3 of my GGC will receive that. I think it was £250 per child.
Probably forgotten about.

That’s why I posted this. I bet loads of people had forgotten. The young man on the radio received about £850!

I think it has to be claimed by the child otherwise it goes back to the government
