You might find this link to what looks to be the membership organisation of UK telecare providers. It includes details of telecare services provided by some local authorities and also what look to be some private companies.

If your own local authority isnt listed here it might be worth contacting them to see if they provide a telecare service. There will still be a charge, though the chances are that it will be lower than the charges of a private provider

Nothing really to add - just fully supporting what Artsyler has said. Our local authority provides a Care Line service free of charge ( or if there is cost it’s very small) to residents aged 80 plus. Both my Mum and my elderly neighbour had it, used it and got help when they needed it because of it. I do hope your local authority provides something similar.

I have a Care Line service which is excellent----any of the emergency services at little cost. Ambulances needed in the past have been immediate and usually accompanied by a paramedic too. I couldn't wish for anything better. Private taxi home if it's been a few hours stay.
