This is one of the benefits that is automatic for those on Pension Guarantee Credit (PGC).

However, you can claim it if you are above the eligibility level for PGC. You should also claim it if you are receiving Pension Savings Credit but not PGC.

If you are eligible you will get help with:

*NHS prescriptions
*NHS dental treatment
*sight tests, glasses and contact lenses
*travel to receive NHS treatment
*NHS wigs and fabric supports

There is a check you can use here:

This list doesn't include help with the cost of hearing aids but I get the impression you can get this - I just can't pin it down. Perhaps someone has done this.

This page explains how you can receive hearing tests and aids at Specsavers. You need to check if your Clinical Commissioning Group has an agreement with them by putting your postcode in at the bottom. You then need to get a referral from your GP. This is a full NHS service and doesn't seem to rely on low-income benefits.
