If the house he is renting out to help your daughter developed a leak would you pay towards it?

The person who can best advise you on this and all other matters to do with your divorce is your solicitor.

I assume your solicitor is a specialist family matters solicitor, NOT the one dealing with the sale of the house. His specialisation is property matters.

If he has just moved back with you to help your daughter out, then I think that the roof is your responsibility. He is either a lodger or renting rooms from you and as such doesn’t pay towards the fabric of the house.

Assuming of course that the house will remain yours after your divorce? If he is expecting some money from your sale obviously he should contribute.

I’m no legal beagle but I’d be thinking he should be contributing to half the cost too? (Likewise your daughter should contribute something? )
Is it your matrimonial home you used to share during marriage?
He’s got a roof over his head to his own advantage so he needs to step up or ship out.

My ex is living with me while he decides to sell his house which he is rent out to help our daughter out in buying a house. We have separate rooms he pays half of the bills. But recently I’ve had problems with the roof here I’m struggling to manage the repairs we are separated but not yet divorced. When the daughters house goes through he will have to go legally where do I stand I’ve only done this to help daughter out she’s here too until the house completes.
