Statuatory sick pay

Hi. Can anyone explain how this works. I’ve been off sick now for four weeks with a back condition, I’m feeling better, but still not sure if I’ll be able to do my job, if I can’t and have to go back on sss again will I still be paid the same amount as before. Thanks

It's a while since I dealt with SSP as we pay our employees when they are off sick
If you are not yet fit for work would you not get another sick note
It depends if you will in time be able to go back to your job if this seems unlikely due to physical restraints you may well have to look for another more suitable position

Hi rosie .I’m okay whilst at home, but just worried it’ll become painful as soon as I begin work again. I have just over a year left before receiving my state pension, so don’t really want to start looking for another job.

You should speak to your work superior and see if its possible to have a phased return perhaps on lighter duties for the time being.
