I will follow this through too, I took martin lewis advice, years ago and spent a lot on rolls of stamps. I gave 2/3 away last year but still have about £50 worth.

I've a friend who has just been accepted for employment with the stamp bar code department.

As I understand it , this will apply not just to those marked 1st or 2nd class, but old ones with amounts printed on them.

I do have very many old stamps of many amounts. When I ran an office from home, I sent out load of post and always had a letter/package weighing machine. I reckon I must have about sixty pounds of these stamps in my file.

Also it seems they are only allowing ONE yer for this change out scheme and it will not be through post offices, but from delivery depots.

As soon as I can I will download this form and follow it through.

Royal Mail have information on their website. The 'swap out' scheme will begin end March 2022, but you will have to get the form online or from the sorting office. Post Offices won't have them.

Thank you. There will seemingly be some kind of swapping system available - I have lots of unused small denomination stamps lurking.

Sorry if this is on the wrong section, wasn't sure where to post. Royal Mail is changing the rules on stamps. If they say '1st' or '2nd' class on them then by 31st January 2023 you will no longer be able to use them. This is because Royal Mail are moving to a new barcode system which these stamps don't have. More details can be found on www.moneysavingexpert.com The link was too long to post but Im sure you can search for it.
