I don’t know what a ‘legacy benefit’ is. I will Google itA legacy benefit is one that is in the process of being phased out to be replaced by Universal Credit. There are a few, and all are income based (means tested). They include Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Housing Benefit, Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit. Contribution based benefits are not legacy benefits as they will remain payable and not replaced by UC.
Reading these posts I can't help thinking that the DWP love to make life complicated with so many different benefits. Not everyone can manage to understand or fill in a form on their own. How do they cope?
